Our mission

A press strong enough to build wealth, not just report on it.

TUEPAC unites independent and community newspapers across the Carolinas into one network — so local journalism, local commerce, and local civic power reinforce each other instead of fighting for the same shrinking dollar.

What we are

Three institutions in one network

Press

A shared newsroom of independents

47 member publishers keep their mastheads and their rights. We handle distribution, the newsletter, and the front page — so reporting reaches far beyond one city.

Commerce

A directory that funds the coverage

Local businesses get discovered; sponsors reach a trusted audience; and the revenue flows back to the publishers who earned the attention.

Civic

Accountability with a long memory

Desks for politics, legal, and HBCUs track the decisions that move capital — and an editorial desk that writes the analysis no single paper has the staff for.

Editorial principles

How we decide what runs

1
Attribution is sacred.Licensed work carries its publisher's name and a link home. We never bury the source.
2
Original is labeled original.Anything the TUEPAC desk writes — including AI-assisted drafts — is disclosed and signed.
3
Sponsors don't pick the news.Sponsorship buys a placement, never a headline. The wall holds.
4
Community over clicks. We measure trust and revenue to publishers, not just pageviews.
